Financial Aid Application

Applying for Financial Aid

  • Steps to apply for Financial aid

    • STEP 1:
Determine your eligibility for a UB merit-based scholarship by completing an admissions application form. Eligibility is based on your cumulative grade point average and whether you plan to enroll full or part-time.
    • STEP 2:
Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov. The FAFSA is your application for Financial Aid.  The Department of Education uses your FAFSA information to determine your Expected Family Contribution and eligibility for federal student aid. We receive your FAFSA information and use it to determine your eligibility for federal, state and institutional financial aid, including federal student loans.   Please include the University of Baltimore school code 002102 on your FAFSA.
    • STEP 3:
Once you have been offered admissions at UB our office uses your admissions application and FAFSA information to determine your eligibility and sends you an award notice by email.  We will first use the email you provided on your admissions application and once your UB Email account has been set up, we will send all notices and inquiries to your UB email account.
    • STEP 4:
Check out UB’s range of Financial Aid choices.
  • When should you apply for financial aid?

You should apply for financial aid as early as possible. The earliest you can complete your FAFSA is January 1st for the next fall semester. To be considered for most State of Maryland Grants and Scholarships you must complete your FAFSA before the State of Maryland Priority Deadline is March 1st. The most common mistake students make is waiting until they make their final decision about what college they will attend before applying for aid. While you should apply as early as possible, it is never to late until the semester you are enrolling has past.
